Personal Injury Recovery
The firm represents individuals who have suffered personal injury and seek compensation for their damages. Personal injury often arises out of the negligent act of another. However, claims can as well be brought when an individual suffers personal injury as a result of the intentional act of another.
Pursuing a claim for personal injury takes into account:
- medical expenses for injury treatment
- diminished earning capacity (often referred to as lost wages)
- physical disability and limitation
- compensation for pain and suffering
- in certain circumstances, claims by family members for the loss of society and comfort of the injured party
When an individual suffers personal injury as a result of the improper actions of another, the effects on the client and his/her family are often financially devastating. It is the role of the attorney representing the claimant to attempt to obtain compensation for not only the personal injury but the financial effects that it has upon the claimant and their family. It is usually important to the client that this process proceed as quickly as possible. In order to accomplish this, there are alternative methods of resolution of the client's claim which may be available to expedite the resolution. These "alternative dispute resolution methods" include:
- negotiation with the responsible party's insurer or legal representative
- submission of claims to nonbinding mediation
- submission of claims to binding arbitration
If these alternative and voluntary methods are not successful in accomplishing resolution, then a civil complaint is filed with the appropriate court seeking redress.
Our firm has over 30 years of experience
in seeking recovery for individuals who have suffered personal
injury. In addition, trained support staff assist in the
process of medical billing information and the payment of medical
bills through appropriate insurance sources. We recognize
our obligation to our clients to obtain fair and full economic
recovery, whenever possible, to ease the burden that an injury
results in to the client.
Certainly, the emphasis on monetary
recovery does not fully satisfy the injured client and often no
amount of recovery will fully compensate for the effects of an
injury. However, as this is the only realistic way to compensate
an individual who has suffered injury, we are committed to attempting
to obtain the maximum recovery possible for the injured client. We
do so under the terms of written agreements known as "contingency
fee agreements" which provide that the client is not responsible
for attorney’s fees unless there is a successful recovery
on their behalf. |
